Runway
How long could you last if your income stopped today?
You are funded until

How is this calculated?
The one honest question: if your paycheck stopped today, how long would your reserves cover your full expenses? That is your runway — nothing is netted against income you might no longer have.
runwayMonths = (savings + buffer) ÷ monthly expenses
Your zero-cash date is simply today plus that many months. If your expenses are $0 the runway is unlimited and no date is shown.
| Runway | Band | Why |
|---|---|---|
| < 3 months | Critical | One setback empties the account. |
| 3–6 months | Fragile | Survives a shock, not a long one. |
| 6–12 months | Stable | Room to absorb a job loss and regroup. |
| 12+ months | Resilient | A genuine cushion; time is on your side. |
The 0–100 score rises smoothly with runway and tops out at 60 months, so a larger cushion always scores higher rather than flattening to a single grade. The score and the band always agree because both come from the same runway number.
Trajectory is shown separately on purpose. "Saving $X/month" or "draining $X/month" describes your current direction with income still coming in — it is not the runway, and the two are never mixed.
